Today we’re taking a look at the Shimano Sustain 2500 HGFI Spinning Reel. This is a brand new version of the sustain the FI model and here is the 2500 sighs.
The first thing that you see about this thing is it looks. It very much like other shimano’s reel. These is the way Shimano’s works are they sort of trickle technology down and then sometimes they trickle technology up based on what they’re doing. The body shape is very similar and it works, they’ve redesigned it using X-Ship and G-Freebody and just move things around over the past couple years with all their higher-end reels and it’s just proven to be successful. When they’re coming out new versions, it’s going to stand to reason if they’re going to use that same thing, this thing is basically between the strata and the twin power in terms of where it fits price-wise and I don’t want to say quality sort of the wrong word. I guess it because of the introduction of twin power this sort of made that a higher end but I feel this.
This reel is just ridiculously smooth but this is just a little bit better or next step and it’s just going to make you have a better fishing experience weighs in at just 8.3 ounces. It’s got an aluminum body Carbon Fiber Rotor it’s a second generation. Um… GL loader that’s the new version of CI
waterproof drag system. You can see the drag cap that looks very similar to the other reels into the other series smooth trip, really have a lot of fun to fish and it’s just going to give you a really great experience. It’s got 9 ball bearings in there, 8 of them are shielded stainless steel ball but ball bearings 6:1 gear ratio and this rail is going to hold about 150 yards of 15-pound test braid or in mono and that’s about 140 of 8 you could switch the handle from left to right. It’s got the aluminum handle. When you get wet and it abate on there no problem and it says it’s designed to just be corrosion resistant. It’s got Shimano’s X-protect on their which is the coating that puts on the rails to keep saltwater out and then also their labyrinth design which is just the way that if water gets into the reel it sorts of drains out and staying away from any components that would potentially be harmed by.
It’s just a really another great reel from Shimano that is a step up. I know for certain people who just absolutely love sustains and that’s what they fish for the last 10 years and they just wait for the next one to come out and whatever but if that’s you, this is definitely an upgrade from the previous generation and it’s definitely a really nice reel that you can have a lot of fun fishing and I’m just going to take your fishing to that next level, so, check it out it’s the Shimano sustain FI spinning reel. It’s the SA2500HG FI they are in stock and available.
