Let’s have a look at the Daiwa Ryoga Shrapnel Baitcasting Reel. This is a JDM special meaning. This is a reel particularly for the Japanese market however we were able to get our hands on some of these and it’s confirmed to be a very exciting reel.
It’s designed as a frog and rod for snakehead in Japan but with the swimbait community over here in the UNITED STATES, I’m sure in Japan too, has discovered that, it is wonderful for throwing those big big swimbaits. I mean you can see those things, you can see how big the gearbox is it’s got a massive main gear and it’s over built to be just very strong, aluminum body and side plates with that big main gear powerful drag system. The greatest carbon drag system in there. The carbon drive system puts out 22 pounds of drag at max and you can see these handles everything is over built on but it’s really nice and smooth and it’s just got a ton of strength and it’s great for throwing those big swimbaits. it’s got a centrifugal braking system in there, and you can get really nicely 13 ball bearings, good free spool and, it’s just an over built Japanese reel. Made in Japan you know super high quality. It’s a really well-made powerful reel, great for casting great for throwing those big bait. It’s got a free-floating spool style to it mat put together with that centrifugal drag system and you can actually throw those baits quite good. There you can see the spool tension knob, great to handle. You know handle knobs just really secure big oversized to get great feeling on it and if they get wet they’re not going to get slippery. You can’t change the drag on this thing it doesn’t have an adjustment but it does come with its. It’s a two pin drag system they’d actually appear to the box with a lighter set of pins. So if you wanted to change that you can.
So, if you throw the swim baits in the US and you’re looking for just a suitable overbuilt reel that’s insane powerful that’s going to cast really well. It’s insane high quality this one is absolutely great choice. Their weighs in at just 13.7 ounces. Again it’s good and lightweight it’s got a 6.2:1 gear ratio. Check it out and they are in stock.
